Flatbed Capability
Flatbed Freight.
Open-deck capacity for steel, building products, machinery and palletized freight — loaded by crane or forklift, secured to standard and tarped against the weather. Cross-border and across Canada.
Flatbed freight lives and dies on securement. The load is open to the road, often heavy and awkwardly shaped, and the difference between a clean delivery and a damaged one is whether it was chained, bracketed and tarped by someone who has done it a thousand times. That is the standard we hold our drivers to.
We move steel and coil, lumber and building products, pipe, machinery, crates and palletized freight — the loads that come off the side or the top rather than the back. Our decks load by crane or forklift, on site or at the dock, so we slot into how your shipper already works.
Every load is secured to standard and weather-protected to the commodity. Steel gets tarped, lumber gets tarped, machinery gets blocked and braced for the route — and it all gets checked again before the wheels turn and at stops along the way.
Securement to standard
Chains, binders, ratchet straps, edge protectors and coil racks applied to NSC Standard 10 / DOT 393 — rated to the freight, not guessed at.
Tarping
Steel, lumber and smoke tarps carried and applied properly, so weather, road grime and prying eyes stay off your load.
Working-load-limit compliance
Tie-downs counted and rated to the weight and length of the load, so the securement holds up to the freight and to a roadside inspection.
Load-specific blocking & bracing
Dunnage, coil racks and bracing built for the piece — machinery and odd shapes ride the way the load demands, not one-size-fits-all.

Flatbed questions, answered
Do you tarp?
Yes. We carry steel, lumber and smoke tarps and apply them as the commodity needs — weather protection on building products, smoke tarps to keep a load clean and out of sight. Tell us the freight and we will confirm the tarping in the quote so there is no surprise charge or scramble at pickup.
Can you handle coil?
Yes. We run coil with proper coil racks and load-specific blocking and bracing, secured to standard for the weight. Eye-to-the-sky or eye-to-the-side, send the coil weight and dimensions and we will spec the securement and the deck for it.
What’s your legal payload?
Typically around 48,000 lb on a standard flatbed, but the real number depends on the trailer, the axle configuration and the jurisdiction you are running through — so we confirm it against your specific load at booking. Give us the weight and we will tell you straight whether it is a legal flatbed move or needs a permit.
Do you load with crane or forklift on site?
Yes. Open decks are built to load from the side or top, so crane and forklift loading on site or at the dock is routine. Let us know how the freight is being put on and taken off at each end and we will make sure the driver and equipment are set up for it.
What We Haul on the Deck
The open-deck freight we secure and tarp.
Every commodity rides differently — coil wants racks and chains, lumber wants tarps, panels want care. Here is the freight that comes off the side and the top, and how we hold it down for the road.

Steel & Coil
Coil, plate and structural steel, chained to standard.
Steel is heavy, dense and unforgiving if it shifts. We run coil on proper coil racks with chains, binders and edge protection rated to the weight — eye-to-the-sky or eye-to-the-side — and we secure plate and structural steel the same way: to NSC Standard 10, not guessed at.
And winter does not change the standard. The load gets checked before the wheels turn and at stops along the way, snow or shine.
Lumber & Building Products
Dimensional lumber and wrapped packs, tarped tight.
Dimensional lumber and wrapped building packs move on open decks and get tarped against the weather so the product arrives dry and clean. We carry steel, lumber and smoke tarps and apply them properly — weather, road grime and prying eyes stay off your load.
Loaded by forklift on site or at the yard, secured to the length and weight, and delivered the way the building site needs it.

Panels & Modular
Wrapped panels and modular components, handled with care.
Wrapped building panels and modular components are awkward, often tall, and easy to scuff if they are thrown on. We block and brace them for the route, secure them to standard, and keep the wrap intact so what loads is what unloads.
Send the dimensions and how they load and unload at each end, and we will spec the deck and the securement to suit.
Open-Deck Capacity
Got steel, machinery or building products to move?
Send the commodity, weight and dimensions and we will confirm capacity and a rate the same business day — secured to standard and tarped to the freight, cross-border and across Canada.
